Tall Bearded Iris. An award winning Iris that is officially called a Plicata. That means the flower is white washed with tones of grey blue and violet - just lovely. Grey sword like foliage. Plant in a sunny well drained spot with the rhizome exposed. Perennial.

Tall Bearded Iris. If you like dark moody flowers you will love this beautiful Iris with large, ruffled, lightly fragrant blooms that have falls and standards in red/black with a black 'beard' tipped in bronze. Happy in the sun and well drained soil. Perennial.

Bearded Iris must be planted with the rhizome exposed i.e. do not cover with soil. They like a side dressing of lime around about August and feeding with a well balanced slow release fertilizer in early October. Divide every 3 years for best results.

Intermediate Irises are ideal for those of you who find your garden is too windy for the stately Tall Bearded Irises. The flower stems sit nicely amongst the foliage and are not overly tall. What they lack in stature they make up for with plenty of blooms.

Intermediate Historic Iris. Bred in NZ this Iris starts blooming very early in spring and carries on for several months. Generous amount of light blue-mauve blooms set amongst grey clump forming foliage. Known as a "good doer". Plant in a well drained sunny spot with the rhizomes exposed.

This easy to grow Iris forms a robust clump made up of small rhizomes. The foliage is dark green, tall and slender. In spring strong stems rise above the foliage and 'butterfly' like blooms of deep purple dance above the leaves. Will grow in sun or part shade. Likes rich acid soil. Perennial.

Siberian Iris do best in soil that does not completely dry out in summer.
