'Ballarat' is a heritage Apple from Australia dating back to the early 1900's. It bears large apples that are ripe towards the end of April. The fruit are green with a red blush and the cream flesh is lovely and juicy. A great apple for cooking - it stores very well too. Deciduous.

Heritage Apple with large, russeted, yellow fruit blushed red. Very popular for cooking as it has a great tangy flavour but also can be eaten fresh. Considered one of the best apples for making sauce. Ripens towards the end of autumn. Malus Crabapples are good pollinators for this apple. Triploid.

A medium sized, red, heritage apple that is crisp and juicy with a mild tart flavour. Excellent eating apple. Very resistant to pests and diseases therefore requiring less maintenance and suitable for organic growing. Fruit matures around February-March. Deciduous.

Double Graft Apple. Hetlina - An old European variety which has mostly red skin and crisp firm flesh. Medium sized and early maturing. Disease resistant. Monty's Surprise - Very large eating and cooking apple that matures in April. Both these apples are very high in anti-oxidants. Deciduous.

A beautiful looking apple with bright red skin and sweet flesh that is said to carry a distinctive strawberry flavour. Very popular in Victorian times as a dessert apple but actually dates from Devon in 1676 hence the name. Deciduous.

Very attractive, early English, Heritage variety with rosy red flushed fruit. The flesh is crisp and juicy with a sharp taste. When left to ripen on the tree the fruit becomes sweeter with a taste that is reminiscent of strawberries. Yum! Disease resistant. Deciduous. Award winner.

Apple Information Page 'Discovery' is a very reliable variety with apples that are ready to eat in summer time. The Royal Horticultural Society has awarded this apple with a Certificate of Garden Merit.
