aka Wire Vine

The twisting, tangled stems of this native Climber make for an interesting and useful plant that can be trained as a climber or used to scramble informally wherever you want quick cover and a plant of interest. Plant in morning sun in soil that does not completely dry out in summer. Semi-evergreen.

The flowers on the female form of Muehlenbeckia are inconspicuous but emit a pleasant fragrance. The flowers are followed by little white berries. This plant also responds well to clipping and is often used for informal topiary work.

An evergreen NZ native with distinctive small green leaves. The margins are finely and bluntly serrated. Young Spring growth is pale green against the silvery whittish trunk. A nice specimen to have amoungst a woodland garden. Will take sandy, loamy and heavy clay soils as long as well drained.

An evergreen NZ native that is extremely decorative with its glossy, dark green leaves that colour in Winter. A great forest tree in lowland dry areas with a dark sooty trunk. As it matures it develops into a slender tree. Wind hardier than other native beechs.

The most floriferous of the olearias. In spring this shrub is smothered in large clusters of white daisy-like flowers. Known as 'Tree daisy' this is an evergreen NZ native shrub. It is medium growing and bushy with narrow, pointed, thin leathery dark green leaves. Flowers borne in large panicles.

Thrives well in windy conditions. Great for hedging, very clippable, or use in boarder or shrub garden.
