A very attractive species with slightly smaller leaves than Gunnera Hamiltonii but of similar colour. The feature of this ground cover plant is the thick bright red fruit spikes which ripen in February & stay adorning the plant for many weeks

This handsome evergreen native forms a slender, erect tapering tree with deep green leaves that have saw-toothed margins. In spring, reddish bottle-brush like flowers appear which provide a nectar feast for native birds. Grows well in average soil in sun or part shade. Avoid harsh frost.

Fast growing evergreen shrub or small erect tree. Bright green leaves which release volatile oils when crushed. Similar to Manuka but leaves are soft and flowers and seeds are smaller than Manuka. Attractive branching pattern and profuse flowering in summer.

Native. Interesting and attractive little ground-cover with fresh green, flat, fern like foliage that sometimes has a hint of bronze. Quite fast growing in sun or part shade and tolerant of coastal conditions. Sometimes used as a 'now mow' lawn substitute. Evergreen.

Native Ground Cover. An extremely useful and attractive spreading perennial that has fern like foliage in interesting shades of lime and bronze-black. Lime yellow flowers appear in summer but the foliage is the main feature. Grow in sun or part shade. Will do best in humus rich soil. Evergreen.

Native. An intriguing little ground-cover with aromatic foliage in a bronze-green tone. The leaves are small, deeply dissected and fern like. Small button flowers in summer. Happy in a sunny spot with well drained humus rich soil. Great for adding interest and foliage texture. Evergreen.

Native. The NZ Iris is an attractive clump forming perennial with spears of fresh green foliage. In summer white 'butterfly' flowers dance above the leaves on stiff, wiry stems. These are followed by ornamental seed pods. Well worth planting and easy to grow. Evergreen.
