Wetland Native. Wind Grass. An attractive and hardy perennial grass that is ideal for mass planting in difficult spots. The leaves are long, narrow and dark green tinged with orange especially in the winter. The fluffy flowers appear on arching stems in summer and are purple-pink. Evergreen.

Native-Wine Berry-Makomako Serrated green leaves with purple tones to the under-side, clusters of pink flowers in spring which are followed by juicy black berries that birds love. Grows happily in the sun in most soils as long as they are not too dry. Tolerates light frost. Semi-evergreen.

Berries will only occur on the female tree if pollination occurs. The Wine-Berry has separate male and female trees. Attractive to Tui.

Hybrid. Strong growing bushy shrub with mid-green small long leaves on layered graceful arching branchlets. Through spring the bush is profusely covered with tiny, single white flowers. Lovely as a dainty specimen or hedge. Evergreen.
