AMAZING AUTUMN SALE !!!!!
Hi

Dinner that night was a banquet at Gingerboy, which apparently we were so lucky to get in to and the meal was just devine. Asian inspired food that was world class. Teppanyaki was the theme for dinner on Saturday night and I have to say it was an experience having never caught flying fried egg in my mouth at the table let alone catch a moving bowl of rice in another bowl.
Saturday was an organised tour of three garden attractions, all quite different from each other and well worth going to. Denise who had orchestrated the whole event had everything sorted exceptionally well. Anthony also ensured the smooth day to day running of Denise's fantastic organizatation Everything went without a hitch, all transfers there just waiting for us and all buses on time.
I would totally recommend Denise for any travel requirements Denise Fowler Travel Broker M 0274 929 505, P 09 575 7121, F 09 575 7122 E denisefowler@thetravelbrokers.co.nz
CAMELLIAS new seasons range all in and looking Fab

Always with a project on the go we decided to cut back the four biggest trees in the nursery to allow a bit more light in and off course the job escalated into replacing the weed cloth that was worn and putting all the irrigation pipes underground. This space is now showcasing all the stunning Camellias that we have in stock. For the first time we have a selection of hedging and Japonicas available as smaller grades. Then the usual huge range of all manner of Camellias ranging from species, sasanquas, japonicas and even reticulatas. Finally beautiful hedging grades, large hedging plants, espalier plants and of course awesome standards. Its well worth just for a look and the Awanui cherry walk stands out so much more now!
TREMENDOUS AUTUMN SALE !!! Bring out your trailer !!!
Anyways its onto things Autumn, we have turned the clocks back and its feeling quite like that time of year. Its really the best time of year for planting as the ground is nice and warm and after this dare I say dampish summer, the soil is quite moist. Plants that you plant now will make huge root growth so that by the time next spring kicks in they will be just romping.
We have an amazing range of trees and there is quite a few of them out there for as little as $10, $20 and half price, so bring on out a trailer and grab yourself a bargain.
Magnolias amazing selection and plants that are just massive, all half price,

Stone fruit $20.00, Golden ash, Medlars, Flowering Cherries all reduced.

Aged terra cotta pots in wire baskets all half price

Its seems early this year but these beautiful fruit have started to ripen, Usually Dad is baking us his gorgeous feijoa and coconut cake but the big rose pot is still 6 weeks off by my reckoning. Feijoas tend to be best eaten as they fall off so we are out there each day collecting the new windfalls. Ill have to put a basket full on dads porch as a little hint. LOL Feijoas are pretty easy to grow, not fussy and don't really get any bugs, can be grown as a shrub, hedge or speciman tree. Plant a couple of different varieties to get better crops of fruit.
A cool plant that I haven't seen for years, this Tradescantia will like a dappled light position and this new form with its attractive gold foliage and purple flowers wuill contrast well against other green foliage like hellebores. The neat thing about gold foliage, shade plants is that they give a lift to darkers areas of the garden
Its a really long weekend and the last one for a while so kick back and enjoy. If you are in the garden have fun and if you have time, come and check out the new seasons Camellias and all the fabulous trees that we have on sale. Bring a trailer as some of them are large. Happy Easter!!
Have a good one !!!
PS we are Open for the rest of the weekend.
Cheers, Lloyd and Harry
