Keep as a small shrub with regular pruning or grow as a slender tree. Features juniper-like foliage and pretty white flowers that are sought after by florists for flower arranging. The flowers are mostly white but have pinky throats and are produced throughout the year.

Lemon Verbena. This open and rangy shrub will not win you over with its looks but will wow you with the delicious aromatic fragrance. Likes good drainage, sunlight and tolerant of light frost. Steep leaves in water to make a refreshing drink. Deciduous.

Give this plant a good tidy up every now and then with sharp secateurs - it will respond well. Small sprays of pale lavender flowers appear in summer but it is really the foliage that makes this shrub desirable.

This is a lovely little shrub that smothers itself in tight clear pink buds that gradually open to pink flowers that have a hint of white. The flowers last for a very long time. Grow in morning sun or a dappled shade position in rich, moist, acid soil for best results. Hardy and evergreen.

An unusual shrub which is valued for its ability to grow in difficult conditions - it will even tolerate dry shade but doesn't like harsh frost. The large glossy leaves are splashed and spotted with yellow and will light up a dull corner. Small red flowers in spring are followed by waxy red berries.

A large leaved pure green selection of the Japanese Laurel shrub. Hardy evergreen that will cheerfully survive heavy shade and dry conditions, and will still look good. The handsome foliage is further enhanced by a crop of red long berries each year.

A small appealing shrub with needle like foliage and delicate yellow flowers in spring to early summer. New growth is tinged red providing a nice contrast of colour with flowers eventually converting to red cones. Makes an attractive patio plant. Evergreen.

This plant is dioecious: male and female flowers grow on different plants.
