This 19th century French hybrid is still rated a top shrub today. Fresh green foliage and virginal white semi-double blossoms with a delicious heady fragrance. Easy to grow in a sunny spot. Prune after flowering within a few centimetres of the old wood. Deciduous.

Philadelphus appreciate a side dressing of lime once a year - probably best applied just before spring.

A top performing little shrub with aromatic evergreen foliage and a nice compact habit. Towards spring little pale red buds appear and open out to a myriad of star shaped white flowers. Prefers a sunny spot with good drainage and protection from harsh frost. (AKA Eriostemon)

A deciduous shrub with brilliant golden leaves turning a light, bright, yellow-green in summer. In autumn it becomes a fluorescent display of Autumn tones. White flower clusters are showy, followed by reddish-pink seed heads that linger long at the ends of branches.

Happy in full sun or part shade and is not soil fussy.

A hardy shrub with large deep purple-bronze leaves. In Summer clusters of tiny white flowers open from pink buds.In Autumn the leaves develop rich red foliage. As the shrub matures it develops peeling bark. Avoid dry sites and will grow best in full sun. Deciduous.

Woody shrub producing gorgeous burgundy/mahogany foliage in the spring and which retains its colour throughout the summer. Leaves are borne on red stems and the undersides are a contrasting olive green. Flowers are pom pom heads of small cream florets. A great contrast plant which is not fussy and low maintenance. Deciduous.
