An interesting little shrub that hails from China and will remind you of Wisteria when in full flower. The foliage is made up of glossy green leaflets, spikes of pretty pink flowers appear in summer. Quite easy to grow in sun or part shade and well drained soil. Deciduous.

In colder climates this sub-shrub may die right back to the ground in winter but it will re-shoot from the base again in spring.

Fast growing evergreen shrub or small erect tree. Bright green leaves which release volatile oils when crushed. Similar to Manuka but leaves are soft and flowers and seeds are smaller than Manuka. Attractive branching pattern and profuse flowering in summer.

Lantana Montevidensis is a nice groundcover. The blooms are lilac pink to purple with yellow centers, appear in masses from spring to autumn. Purple Trailing Lantana’s foliage will change to a red to purple color in the colder months. The foliage is very aromatic.

Red to bronze winter colouring with pendant racemes of white flowers. These are very easy to grow and will grow in most conditions from full sun to heavy shade and well drained to moist soil, but not waterlogged. It is also tolerant of more extreme conditions e.g. strong winds. Evergreen.

It will benefit from an occasional acid feed.

Bushy evergreen shrub with tiny oval deep green leaves. Small creamy white fragrant flowers in summer. Often used as a faster growing Box substitute. Ideal for topiary work and very effective for hedging. Fast growing and hardy.

If you want to quickly establish a nice compact low hedge then this is the plant for you. Lonicera needs a little more clipping than Box but it is very easy to maintain. When used for hedging or topiary then the flowers and fruit will be non existent.

Not only is this shrub exquisitely beautifully it is also powerfully fragrant. Large, lush, green foliage with large showy flower heads of soft white blushed pale pink that emit a fragrant in autumn-winter. Must have evenly moist, free draining soil and a frost free position. Evergreen.

This shrub is exquisitely beautifully it has a powerful fragrant. Large, lush, green foliage that has bronze overtones in winter and large showy flower heads of mauve-pink in autumn-winter. Must have excellent drainage and a frost free position. Likes a semi-shaded position. eg woodlands.

Though technically evergreen Luculia does tend to drop quite a few leaves in cold winters. If at all possible protect from all but the lightest of frosts. Can be cut back reasonably hard to maintain a tidy shape.
