Climber. Mr Toogood of Melbourne found the seedling of this simply beautiful rose on his birthday and what a present! Spring flowering with dark, velvet red, double flowers that are very fragrant and excellent for picking. An enduring gift to celebrate a loved ones birthday. 1950.

Climber Hybrid Tea. An excellent rose with healthy disease resistant foliage, seductively scented, long stemmed, deep purple blooms that are perfect to pick. Stunning addition to any garden and bred right here in NZ by Rob Somerfield. 1998. Multi Award Winner.

Rob Somerfield says this rose is "named after the liqueur 'Blackberry Nip' that we all remember" from our past. I'm afraid my memory of it is not a great one - my fault as I somewhat over indulged, now days I would choose to drink in the scent of this beautiful rose rather than the liqueur!

A lovely little rose with button-hole blooms of pretty pink that appear in large sprays throughout summer. The blooms are lightly scented. Fine green foliage and stems with few thorns. Often confused with 'Cecile Brunner' but distinguished by the long sepals at the base of each bloom. 1920.

Climber Large Flowered. The very pretty shade of soft apricot and hybrid tea shaped blooms make this climbing rose most desirable. Named by the Royal College of Midwives to celebrate new life. Oh yes there is a pleasing fragrance as well. Award winner. 1982.

Modern climber. Soft bubblegum pink blooms with light sweet fragrance pop into flower covering large areas with an amazing show. Repeat blooms throughout the season on a bushy, robust plant with mid-green foliage. Bred by the renowned Kordes Rosen, Germany.

Hybrid Musk. A well known and well loved little climber with fully double blooms varying from buff-yellow to soft apricot. Really pretty in full flower. Recurrent with a good strong scent. Could be used as a tall bush or small climber. 1939.

Moss Dark purple to crimson, colour may soften in strong light. Strong fragrance. Medium to large, double, quartered bloom form form mossed buds. Once blooming spring or summer. Grows to around 120 cm tall, can be trained as a climber. Very disease resistant. Bred by Jean Laffay (France, 1854).

Climber Large Flowered. The best description you could give this rose is 'that it's all good'. Double, quartered, full and fragrant blooms shaded a clear primrose yellow. Repeats well, nice hips in autumn if not completely dead headed. Excellent dark green, glossy foliage. Simply charming. 1963.

China. A perfect little button-hole rose, simply charming. Almost always in flower with small perfect pink blooms that open from long pointed buds. Fragrance is light, sweet and spicy. Relatively few thorns and healthy foliage. This climbing sport is quite vigorous and will tolerate some shade. 1894.

Summer flowering

Climber Noisette. A summer flowering small climber with spicy scented flowers of primrose yellow. The quartered frilly blooms have a green button eye. We have this in our garden and it performs well. Repeats intermittently until autumn. 1842.
