Protea nana is a charming, dainty, dense small shrub. Curved needlelike green leaves are carried on gracefully curved branches. The beautiful cup shaped, pendulous flowers are a velvety wine red and will been seen from mid winter through to early summer. Evergreen

An upright rounded shrub which has medium sized yellowy cream flowers throughout Autumn to Spring. Flowers suited to picking. Adaptable to most well drained soils in sunny situations. Prune to shape.

To have success with your Protea good drainage is essential. They like a nice light slightly acidic soil. They don't like fertilizer high in phosphates. Generally feeding is not necessary but a slow release with a low phosphate (P) rating is the safest to use. Any pruning should be done after flowering.
