Rambler. Medium sized fragrant and fully double flowers that open flat. The flowers are coloured a rich salmon with coppery apricot overtones. Nice shiny foliage that also has tones of copper. Repeats on and off throughout the season especially if in a nice sunny spot. 1900.

It is a few years since I had 'Paul Transon' in my garden but it was a rose I always admired and enjoyed growing.

Rambler. A heritage rose from the 1800's that is hardy and vigorous. The small blooms are cupped and double, shaded softest baby pink and deliciously fragrant. Puts on a beautiful display of drooping clusters of bloom in the height of summer. A useful rose to cover large structures or walls.

Hybrid Tea. Well it had to be red didn't it? This flamboyant, red, red rose with non fading blooms is a worthy representative of the Italian tenor. Long stems perfect for picking. Repeats well throughout the season on a nice upright bush. PVR. 1994.

Hybrid Musk. Very large semi-double flowers, creamy to pure white, with obvious golden stamens. Flowers continuously throughout summer. Moderately fragrant. Perhaps the largest of the Hybrid Musks with blooms produced in large, well-spaced clusters held on long, arching stems. Superb rose. Deciduous

aka Peace or Mme A Meilland

Hybrid Tea. Possibly the world's favourite, best known and best loved rose. A delicate soft yellow edged with pink. Lightly fragrant blooms on a very sturdy vigorous bush. Wonderful as a cut flower. Repeats well and shows good disease resistance. Multi award winner. 1945.

This truly superb rose was bred by Frenchman Francis Meilland and named by Field Marshal Alan Brooke to celebrate the liberation of France at the end of WW11. It is a fascinating story - worthy of further reading and certainly 'Peace' is very worthy of planting.

Hybrid Musk. Rose lovers use all the superlatives when describing this rose as it is just so lovely. A prolific bloomer with clusters of large, semi-double blooms in tones of blush pink and cream. Handsome foliage and fragrant complete the picture. Hardy and reliable. 1924.

Penelope will have a display of beautiful hips in autumn if not completely dead-headed.

Hybrid Tea. A beautiful rose with a classic Hybrid Tea shape in bud and flower. The flowers are a soft apricot in the centre and edged with a silvery pink. Sturdy, disease resistant growth habit and repeats well. A powerful perfume adds the finishing touch. 1997. PVR.

Hybrid Tea. An award winning rose which is not only very fragrant but very free flowering as well. The blooms are a pretty rose pink and are excellent for picking. Attractive dark green foliage. With 'Peace' as one of the pollen parents you know that this will be a good rose to grow. 1973.

Rambler. Small, dainty, semi-double flowers in shades of pink, salmon and creamy yellow appear throughout the summer. Blooms are delicately scented. Growth is upright (good for a pillar) and the foliage is light green and plentiful with relatively few thorns. Tolerates poor soil and some shade. 1923

Patio. Bred in NZ this award winning and eye-catching rose has pretty blooms of bright pink edged in silver white described as 'hand-painted'. The blooms are produced in generous clusters throughout the season. Glossy green disease resistant foliage. Bred in NZ by Rob Somerfield. Released in 2012.

This rose has a Flower Carpet seedling as one of its parents which lets you know it will be robust, hardy and easy to grow.
