Gallica. An unusual rose that grows quite tall with strong arching branches. It bears single, deep pink simple flowers which aren't complicated at all. An attractive pale central zone highlights the prominent yellow stamens. Flowers mainly in summer. Good autumn hips and a soft fragrance

China. This is such a pretty rose bred in France in 1902. The almost single blooms are shades of soft orange and pink highlighted with red. And oh the perfume. Flowers from summer to autumn. Lovely. Assume named after Zoe Talon AKA Comtesse du Cayla and mistress of Louis XVIII.

Hybrid Musk. When I first started growing roses this was one of my favourites. The small double flowers are produced in large clusters and are a blend of apricot, buff and pink. Nice bronze tones to the foliage and a good musky fragrance. Few thorns. Use as large shrub or small climber. 1925.
